Capturing the red sun

This week there is a lot of news about the volcano eruption in Iceland, meteorologist also gave news that sunset can look interesting because of the particles floating in the sky.

I called up my friend Serdar a fellow blogger to pack his camera and rush to the bridge were we had the best view of the sunset. We we got there, we got a little disappointed because the horizon was clouded.

But you always have to make the best of it.

expo preview: Futuro (Matti suuronen)

Don't worry, aliens aren't invading the world. If it was, then these aliens are very hip.
It's the Futuro house by Matti Suuronen, this is one of my favorites. It looks modern on the outside and very cozy and compact on the inside.

It was created in the late 60's but not a lot of them remain. Museum Boijmans van Beuningen just bought one of the prototypes, so I am very enchains to see a real one next week.

EXPO: Graduation expo p.1

The graduation exposition is a great hit, our work was standing.
The reactions to our work was great and we had a lot of fun. This is our last project at "Grafisch Lyceum Rotterdam" .

A new door is opening and we past the horizon.

The fashionista's from the fashion class came by out of curiosity

Our fellow student "Onur" graduates later this year, he's a great sport to
cheer us on our graduation work

If there is work to do,
then there is also stuff to clean

Old memories

I am very busy with my last project at GLR before I graduate. Today I realised how many things I made over the last 4 years. I came to the Graphic lyceum Rotterdam, not knowing how the Artistic world was like.

This video displays my first to my last work last year, it's not perfect but more will come.

I will discribe some of my favorite projects in later posts

 Hope you like it.

Change of plans

Ok my concept for the final exam wasn't strong enough and it sounded pretty lame eventually.
But I'm going for another concept, the actual idea is that the object that I choose has to tell something about me.

I am going back to my roots, starting with the way I used to design expositions.

Starting with geometry, I don't know what it is but I love geometric shapes. As specially when you place it in open spaces. I often get a  futuristic feeling when I see it.

Also I like to play with material. Testing it out and do something else what you won't at least expect.

Finally there is minimalism. During my photography years, I found out that I like simple shapes.
Not to crowded and with a simple but strong subject on a photo.

Well I hope that this concept turns out alright... but don't hesitate to comment, I could use the feedback right now.
