The spaceship has landed

O my god A spaceship has landed in Boijmans in Rotterdam! I was very awed when I saw it.

No really it is the Futuro by Matti Suuronen, finally I could see the real deal. The house reminds me of the 1951 movie 'Day the earth stood still'. Anyway if you look on the outside it was very claustrophobic looking, if you walk in to the house then you'll notice how compact it was build and designed. I kept imagining how it was like to live in it.

The pod even has two bedrooms and each of the rooms had a bunk bed. With a small and round window it was very cosy actually if you love small spaces. Basically it had everything you need, from an open kitchen to a small bathroom and a storage room.

Entrance, on the left side is the bathroom.
Kitchen
Three people can sleep inside this small bedroom,
but I recommend two by the looks of  it.

expo preview: Futuro (Matti suuronen)

Don't worry, aliens aren't invading the world. If it was, then these aliens are very hip.
It's the Futuro house by Matti Suuronen, this is one of my favorites. It looks modern on the outside and very cozy and compact on the inside.

It was created in the late 60's but not a lot of them remain. Museum Boijmans van Beuningen just bought one of the prototypes, so I am very enchains to see a real one next week.

EXPO: Graduation Tao Chan (personal graduation work)

Inspired by a crystal and forged with the lightest materials.
For this graduation project I used the shapes in the picture I made from a crystal.
There is a reason why I chose a crystal.

The item displayed on this item is a traditional shape seen over many years.
If you look again it contains many modern shapes.
It leads to how I grew up as a child,
I let the traditional way behind me and the way I design is modern
and inspired by deconstructionism.

EXPO: Graduation expo p.1

The graduation exposition is a great hit, our work was standing.
The reactions to our work was great and we had a lot of fun. This is our last project at "Grafisch Lyceum Rotterdam" .

A new door is opening and we past the horizon.

The fashionista's from the fashion class came by out of curiosity

Our fellow student "Onur" graduates later this year, he's a great sport to
cheer us on our graduation work

If there is work to do,
then there is also stuff to clean

Old memories

I am very busy with my last project at GLR before I graduate. Today I realised how many things I made over the last 4 years. I came to the Graphic lyceum Rotterdam, not knowing how the Artistic world was like.

This video displays my first to my last work last year, it's not perfect but more will come.

I will discribe some of my favorite projects in later posts

 Hope you like it.

Toine Klaassen, Dreamworld

I took these pictures at the working envirement of an artist called "Toine Klaassen",
the envirement is feel very surreal. The artist said something about a dreamworld, can that be in his own vision or is it the opposite of the world of what we want to see?

This is a great excibit to see another form of art.
I also recommend to take a camera with you so that you can take some nice shots.
